Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical effect of amlodipine combined with metoprolol in treating essential hypertension. Methods: 102 patients who accepted treatment between April 2012 and Nov 2012 in our hospital were divided randomly into two groups. The control group was treated with amlodipine, and the treating group was treated with amlodipine plus metoprolol. The curative effect was compared between the groups. Results: After treatment, the blood pressure and heart rate declined obviously compared with that before treatment in two groups, and the difference was significantly statistical(P0.01). The diastolic blood pressure after treatment decreased quicker in the treating group than that in the control group(P0.01). The total effect rate was higher in treating group than that in control group, and the side effects was lower in treating group than that in control group(P0.01). Conclusion: The amlodipine combined with metoprolol had better curative effect than amlodipine alone in treating hypertension.
