Studies on the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of the 4%-indomethacin cream and 1%-indomethacin cream

OBJECTIVE Comparison of Analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect between 4%-indomethacin and 1%-indomethacin cream was studied.METHODS Different pain and inflammation models were made to investigate effects of the 1% and 4%-indomethacin cream.RESULTS 4%-indomethacin cream produced obvious analgesic effects on pain models induced by methanal, pressing tail and heat plate. Anti-inflammatory experiments results showed that ear edema resulted from dimethyl benzene and paw edema induced by carragheenin were significantly inhibited by 4%-indomethacin cream.CONCLUSION 4%-indomethacin cream has significant analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, and is better than 1%-indomethacin cream.
