Local Teachers Colleges: Reform and Development

Local teachers colleges in the new century should actively adapt themselves to the objective requirements of the development of the socialist market economy. The trend for their reform and development should be in teacher education, integration, high standardization and localization. The paper emphasizes the importance in the research on educational theories, rebuilding the pre service and post service training systems, promoting the specialization of the teachers as well as the clarification of the function and tasks of the local teachers colleges and the cooperation with the local education administrative departments.
