Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of epidural block combined with general anesthesia in old patients undergoing esophagus cancer resection. Methods 52 cases were divided into two groups randomly,A and B.Group A was used general anesthesia and group B was used epidural block combined with general anesthesia.Blood pressure, respiratory rate and visual ambiguity score were recorded three times, respectively in 5 minutes before skin incision, sputum suction before tracheal extubation and 24 hours after tracheal extubation. Results The changes of blood pressure and respiratory between two groups showed statistical significance. The circulation and respiration in group B were more stable than group A.The dosage of anesthetics and tracheal extubation time in group B were more less than group A(P0.05).Conclusion Epidural block combined with general anesthesia can effectively reduce cardiovascular responses in the old patients undergoing esophagus cancer resection.
