Abstract

Objective to evaluate the efficacy of general anesthesia combined with epidural block anesthesia on hemodynamics in patients undergoing thoracic surgery during extubation. Methods: Thirty patients undergoing thoracic surgery,ASA I-II were randomly assigned into two groups:general anesthesia group(group G) and general anesthesia combined with epidural block group(GE group). The same anesthesia agents were chosen to induce for all patients. The patients in GE group were punctured into epidural space though T_(4-5) or T_(5-6).The anesthesia plan was under T_4~T_(10) level.SBP,DBP,MAP and HR were recorded respectively before induction and extubation, during extubation and after 1 minutes and 5 minute tracheal extubation. Results:In the GE group SBP,DBP,MAP is clearly lower than that of the group G before intubation and extubation, during extubation and after 1 minute and 5 minutes tracheal extubation(P0.05),and HR is slower than that of the group G(P.05).Conclusion:General anesthesia combined with epidural block can stabilize the hemodynamics and reduce the stress response to surgery which can be applied safely and effectively.
