Abstract
Objective To observed the therapeutic effect of valsartan combined with amlodipine on senile patients with primary hypertension and its effects on the blood lipids Methods The 120 patients with essential hypertension were, from January 2009 to April 2011,randomly divided into observation group and control group, each consisted of 60 cases. Those in control were treated with amlodipine. Those in observation group were treated the control group plus valsartan.Blood pressure and plasma lipid were observed before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was 95.00% and 80.00% in the control group, showing statistically significant between two groups(P 0.05).The levels of systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP) and pulse pressure(PP) after treatment decreased significantly than that before treatment(P 0.01),while the levels of SBP and PP in observation group decreased more significantly than those in control group(P 0.05 or P 0.01).The levels of TC,TG and LDL-C in observation group after treatment decreased significantly than those before treatment or control group(P 0.05),the levels of HDL-C before and after treatment was not statistically significant in two groups(P 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions showed no significant difference between two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of valsartan combined with amlodipine is effective on senior patients with primary hypertension and can reduce the patients’blood lipids
