Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) in treating impairment of cerebral function after conservative therapy in patients with hypertensive basal ganglia hemorrhage. Methods Bleeding volume of 76 patients was less than 30 ml.Patients with hypertensive basal ganglia hemorrhage were randomly divided into two groups(hyperbaric oxygen treatment group and control group). Both groups were treated with conventional medical treatment combined with rehabilitation therapy, with additional HBO for treatment group. At the beginning and 5 weeks after treatment, they were assessed for neurologic deficit scale and clinical efficacy. Results The rating of neurologic deficit scale in the treatment group was reduced from(23.46±4.53) to(11.25±3.18) and that of the control group from(22.72±5.29) to(15.69±2.30).The comparison before and after the treatment was statistically significant(P0.05).Therapeutic efficacy of treatment group(79.5%) was superior to that of control group(56.8%).It was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion The hyperbaric oxygen therapy and rehabilitation therapy have a coordinative effect in expectant treatment of hypertensive basal ganglia hemorrhage. The combination of both the therapies can obviously improve the neurologic impairment, reduce complications and achieve good efficacy and life quality. The treatment is worthy of wide application clinically.
