Effect of Lu Huang Shen Hua Capsule on Levels of Interleukin-6 and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α in Rats with Diabetic Nephropathy

Objective:To observe the Effect of Lu Huang Shen Hua(LHSH) Capsule on levels of interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in diabetic nephropathy rats,and to explore the possible mechanism of LHSH Capsule in treating diabetic nephropathy.Methods: The diabetic nephropathy rat model was induced by peritoneal injection of streptozotocin 50 mg/kg once.The experimental rats were randomly divided into LHSH Capsule group,model group and normal contrast group.The levels of blood glucose,urine albumin(UAlb),IL-6 and TNF-α in rats of three groups were assayed.Results: The levels of blood glucose,UAlb,IL-6 and TNF-α in LHSH Capsule group were higher than those in normal group(P0.05,P0.01).The levels of above-mentioned indexes in LHSH Capsule group were lower than those in model group(P0.05,P0.01).Conclusion: The protective effects of LHSH Capsule on the rat kidney in early diabetic nephropathy might be related with regulating the level of blood glucose,decreasing the levels of UAlb,IL-6 and TNF-α.
