Effect of Ge Pi Decoction on Urine Protein of Type 2 Diabetic Rats

Abstract

Objective To investigate the protective effect and mechanism of Ge Pi Decoction in rats with diabetic nephropathy.Methods Diabetic nephropathy rats were induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin and feeding with high fat and high carbohydrate diet.Rats were divided into control group(n=10),diabetes model group(n=11),Ge Pi Decoction group(n=11),and Benazepril group(n=9).All rats were sacrificed after 8 weeks and the blood,urine and kidney samples were collected.The level of FBG,TC,TG,KHI,MCP-1,TNF-α,IL-6 and 24hUAlb were determined in the both groups.Results The level of FPG,MCP-1,TNF-α,IL-6 and 24h UAlb in the Ge Pi Decoction group decreased significantly(P0.05).Conclusion Ge Pi Decoction has protective effect on nephropathy of diabetic rats.
