Clinical Analysis of Huangtu Decoction Therapy in Treatment of Senior Peptic Ulcer Complicated with Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Huangtu Decoction therapy in treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in Senior patients with peptic ulcer.Methods A total of 82 patients were randomly divided into the treat-ment group(n=41) and the control group(n=41).Both groups were received routine medical care.Pantoprazole 40mg was given twice daily for a five days to the control group.Huangtu Decoction was given to the treatment group on contol group basis additional simultaneously twice daily.Before and 24,48 and 72h after treatment,the changes of PH of the empty stomach gastric juice were monitored in both groups.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 97.56%,which was significantly better than that of the control group 80.49%,the difference was significant between the two groups(P0.05).PH value of the two groups was gradually increased at 24,48 and 72h after the treatment,which showed significant difference as compared with that of before treatment(P0.05).The increasing amplitude of PH value in the treatment group was higher than that of the control group at 24,48 and 72h after the treatment,there were significant differences between the two groups(P0.05).No significant adverse drug reactions occurred in both groups.Conclusion It is safe and effective to apply Huangtu Decoction therapy in treatment of peptic ulcer complicated with upper gastrointestinal bleeding in senior patients.
