Shift-Share Analysis of Advanced Manufacturing Industry Competitiveness in Guangdong Province

Abstract

By using Shift-Share Analysis(SSA) with different references,this paper made empirical analysis on the overall and sub-sector competitiveness of Guangdong’s advanced manufacturing industry from different points.In the respect of the overall competitiveness,Guangdong’s advanced manufacturing industry has advantage in the industrial structure,while its re-gional competitiveness is weak;in the respect of sub-sector competitiveness,the main sub-sectors of Guangdong’s advanced manufacturing industry presents a weak regional competitiveness in comparison with that of the whole country and the devel-oped manufacturing provinces.
