Abstract

To investigate the effect of vitamin C on the cell cycle and membrane potential of the primary hepatocytes in broilers incubated with copper, the primary hepatocytes were divided into normal control(groupⅠ) and four stimulus groups treated with 10 μmol/L Cu2+(group Ⅱ),30 μmol/L Cu2+(group Ⅲ),50 μmol/L Cu2+(group Ⅳ),and 50 μmol/L Vc+50 μmol/L Cu2+(group Ⅴ) after changed the medium in 24 h.The cell cycles and cell membrane potentials were measured at 48 h by the methods of flow cytometry(FCM).The result showed that the number of the primary hepatocytes which were treated with 30 μmol/L and 50 μmol/L Cu2+ was significantly increased in stationary phase, and was significantly decreased in proliferative stage, and the cell membrane potential was decreased(P0.05).There was no obvious change in 10 μmol/L Cu2+.The results indicate that vitamin C can significantly inhibit the changes caused by 50 μmol/L Cu2+,it has a protective effect in the cells.
