Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical applications of laparoscopic high ligation of spermatic veins in treatment of varicocele. Methods 63 cases with bilateral varicocele underwent laparoscopic high ligation of spermatic veins. Results The operating time was (33±9)min;There was nearly no bleeding in operation. The mean postoperative hospitalization was 2.3d (range,2-3d). With a follow-up of 6 months, the varicose vein vanished, and the quality of spermatic fluid in the patients with infertility showed obvious improvement compared with that before the operations. Conclusions Laparoscopic surgery is an effective way to treat varicocele and is worthy to be recommended because of its advantages of less interferences, few complications, quick recovery, and low recurrence rate.Besides,it can be performed on bilateral spermatic veins simultaneously.
