Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical application of laparoscopic high ligation of spermatic veins in treatment of bilateral varicocele. Methods Twenty-three cases with bilateral varicocele underwent laparoscopic high ligation of spermatic veins. Results All operations were completed successfully and no severe complication occurred during the operation. The operating time was(35±9)min;There was nearly no bleeding in operation. The average hospital stay after operation was 3.5d,With a follow-up of 6 months, the varicose vein vanished, and the quality of spermatic fluid in the patients with infertility showed obvious improvement compared with that before the operations. Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery is an effective way to treat varicocele and is worthy to be recommended because of its advantages of less interferences, few complications, quick recovery, and low recurrence rate.Besides,it can be performed on bilateral spermatic veins simultaneously.
