The Efficacy of Mifepristone on Uterine Myoma and the Influence of this Drag on Sexual Hormone

Objective To explore the effect of mifepristone on myoma of uterus and the changes of sexual hormones before and after this treatment.Methods 45 patients with uterine myoma were orally administered mifepristone 25mg before sleeping once a day for three months;the sizes of uterus and its myoma were observed in the B type sonogram an the serum sexual hormone,the function of liver and kidney,the blood glucose and lipid were assayed.Results Menostasia was appeared in the period of treatment and clinical symptomes were improved;the sizes of uterus and its myoma were averagely decreased to 32.63% and 52.56% respectively;the mean concentration of FSH,LH,PRL,E_2 and P were lower than before treatment,but the concentrations of E_2 and P were decreased more significantly(P0.01).Conclusion It is more effective and less side effects that myoma of uterus is treated by mifepristone,and it may be a new way to conservatively treat uterine myoma.
