Abstract
Objective:To assess the therapeutie effect of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation for cataract with high myopia. Methods:Phacoemulsification combined with IOL implantation was done on 31 cases (36eyes) suffering from high myopia complicated by cataract with long axial length 27.41mm. The nucleus hardness was gradeⅡin 5 eyes, grade Ⅲ in 30 eyes and grade Ⅳ in 1 eyes. Results:3 menths after operation,29 eyes got a visual acuity≥ 0.5 (80.6%).The major complication was ruptured posterior phacocyst (5.6%).The major reason of bad vision after implantation of intraoculor lens is high myopia complicated by retinal lesions. Conclusions:The phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation is a useful technigue for patients with high myopia complicated by catarat.
