Abstract

Objective To evaluate clinical results of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation for cataract with high myopia. Methods 46 eyes of cataract with high myopia were treated by phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. Results The best corrected visual acuity was better than 0.2 in 43 eyes(93.5%) and was 0.5 or more in 29 eyes(63%) after the treatment.Posterior capsular rupture didn't take place in the course of all operation.Main postoperative complications included 3 eyes of corneal edema,1 eyes of intraocular hypertension,2 eyes of after-cataract and 3 eyes of macula hemorrhage. Conclusion Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation is a kind of safeand effective treating method for cataract withhigh myopia.
