Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens(IOL) implantation for cataract with high myopia. Methods with surface anaesthesia, phacoemulsification and implantation was done on 160 cases (193 eyes) suffered from cataract with high myopia. Results At one month after operation 100 eyes(81 97%) attained visual acuity of 0.5 or better in 26 30mm axis oculi group, 33 eyes (46.48%) visual acuity of 0.5 or better in ≥30mm axis oculi group .Conclusion Visual acuity could be improved for high myopia and cataract patients with phacoemulsification and IOL implantation.
