Abstract
objective:To evaluate the prognostic value of serum C-reactive protein(CRP) in unstable angina pectoris(UAP).Methods: Serum CRP was measured in 60 UAP patients.In-hospital cardiac events were observed and recorded.Results:According to the level of CRP,sixty patients were divided into two groups:group A(n=28,46.7%,CRP3 mg·L~(-1)) and group B(n=32,53.3%,CRP≥3 mg·L~(-1)).The incidence of cardiac events,including AMI,sudden cardiac death and refractory angina pectoris with in 30 days,were significantly higher in group B than in group A(50.0% vs 10.7%,P0.01).Conclusions: Serum CRP levels is associated with the incidence of cardiac events in patients of UAP and could predict the prognosis of patients with unstable angina.
