Relationship between the gene polymorphisms of angiotensinogen gene M235T and α-adducin G460T gene and cerebral infarction

Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between the polymorphisms of angiotensinogen(AGT) gene M235T and α-adducin gene G460T and cerebral infarction(CI).Methods PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) was used to detect the genotype and allele frequencies of AGT M235T and α-adducin G460T in 396 CI patients(CI group) and 360 health physical examination persons(NC group).The relationship between them and CI were analyzed.Results(1) The frequency of AGT MM genotype in CI group was significantly lower and MT genotype was significantly higher than NC group(allP0.05),but the allele frequencies were no significantly different between the two groups.(2)The genotypes and allele frequencies of α-adducin G460T were no significantly different between the two groups.(3) Frequency of GG+MM in CI group was significantly lower than NC group(P0.05).Conclusions AGT gene MT genotype maybe relation to the onset of CI.The polymorphism of α-adducin gene G460T maybe not related to CI.The combination of GG+MM genotypes maybe a protective factor of CI.
