The Effect of Tetramethylpyrazine(TMP)in Combination with Benelazapril on the Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy

Objective: To observe the effect of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) in combination with benelazapril on the patients with diabetic nephropathy.Methods: Forty eight patients suffered from diabetic nephropathy were divided into three groups,16 cases in each group. Group A was treated with TMP in combination with benelazapril,group B treated with TMP and group C treated with benelazapril. The changes of blood pressure (BP),urinary protein in 24 hours,triglyceride,cholesterone,BUN and creatinine were observed over two-months treatment.Results: Triglyceride and cholesterone were reduced in group B with BP decreased slightly. BP and urinary protein were decreased and renal function was improved in group C. Triglyceride and cholesterone as well as BP and urinary protein were significantly reduced in group A with BUN and creatinine decreased significantly (respectively,P0.05 and P0.01).Conclusion: The treatment with TMP and benelazapril may decrease BP,proteinuria,triglyceride and cholesterone and improve renal function and retarded the progressive renal injury of diabetic nephropathy.
