Observation of curative efficacy of asiaticoside ointment combined with halometasone cream in treatment of chronic eczema patients

Objective To observe the efficacy of asiaticoside ointment combined with halometasone cream and only usehalometasone cream or asiaticoside ointment in treatment of hand chronic eczema. Methods The 125 chronic eczema casesin Department of Dermatology in Dermatological Department of Zhongkai High-tech Industry Development Zone People'sHospital from August 2011 to May 2013, were randomly dicided into combination group(42 cases), halometasone group(41cases), asiaticoside group(41 cases). Combined treatment group: alternating external 0.05% halometasone cream andasiaticoside ointment, 2 times each day, more than 2 hours each time interval; halometasone group: only topical use of 0.05%halometasone cream; asiaticoside group: external asiaticoside ointment. The last two groups were 2 times a day. Continuousmedication effects were observed after 2 weeks. Results Two weeks after treatment, the cure rate in combination group,halometasone group and asiaticoside group were 42.5%, 30%, 12.5%,respectively; the total effective rates were 87.5%, 75%,35% respectively. The results showed that the total effective rate and cure rate in combination group were higher than that ofmonotherapy groups(P0.05), halometasone group was higher than that of asiaticoside group, and the onset time ofcombination therapy was shorter than monotherapy. Conclusion The combination therapy is better than that of using onedrug alone, and the onset time is shorter with safety and well tolerated.
