Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of Zhongfengkang on activity of Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of Malondialdehyde(MDA) in brain of focal cerebral ischemia rats.Methods:To make the model of focal cerebral ischemia by inserting nylon thread,compared with Buchangnaoxintong,the effect of Zhongfengkang on infarct volume and activity of SOD and the content of MDA in brain of focal cerebral ischemia rats were observed in 6h,12h,24h and 48h after cerebral ischemia.Results:In 6h after cerebral ischemia,the activity of SOD decreased and the content of MDA in brain increased;the activity of SOD reached the lowest and the content of MDA reached top in 48h(P0.01);Compared with model group of the same time,the activity of SOD of each treatment groups were increased and the content of MDA in brain of each treatment groups were decreased(P0.05 or P0.01),and the change of high dose group were most remarkedly(P0.05 or P0.01);Compared with model group of the same time,the infarct volume of each treatment groups were decreased(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion:Through inreasing activity of SOD and dereasing the content of MDA in brain of focal cerebral ischemia rats and reducing infarct volume,Zhongfengkang could improve free radical metabolized and protect focal cerebral ischemia rats effectively.
