Analysis of Current ESP Teaching and Coping Strategies

Abstract

This paper briefly reviews the most recent ESP developments both home and abroad,and analyzes the existing problems in China' s ESP teaching in great detail.The problems mainly includes:unclear ESP positioning;inappropriate ESP curriculum;backward.teaching patterns;poor quality ESP textbooks;weak ESP teaching faculty;and loose ESP teaching organization.To tackle all these problems this author put forward 4 suggestions,namely to specify ESP positioning,quicken the steps for ESP books development,enhance ESP teachers training and set up online ESP information bank.
