Clinical Efficacy of 5-FU Continuous Infusion Combined with CF, DDP,and HCPT in Patients with Advanced Gastric Carcinoma

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and tolerance of CF/5 FU,DDP and HCPT in patients with advanced gastric carcinoma.Methods:A combined chemotherapy scheme of HLEP was used:5 FU 0.5 iv,then 2.5 g/m 2 for 48 hours by continuous infusion,CF 300 mg iv at 0 and 24th hour and HCPT 10 mg/m2/d iv for 5 day as well as DDP 20 mg/d iv for 5 days.The above scheme was repeated every three or four weeks.Results:Of 42 cases of gastric cancer, two had CR and 19 PR,and the response rate(CR+PR) was 50%.The main toxic side effects included stomatitis, diarrhea, alopecia, anorexia,nausea,vomiting and leucopenia.Conclusion:HLFP regimen has a higher response rate in patients with advanced gastric carcinoma.The toxicity is slight and can be well tolerated.
