Abstract
Objective To investigate the fungi distribution and the drug resistant characteristics of the fungi isolated from aseptic body fluid from 2002 to 2006 in West China hospital. Methods The fungi were cultured on Saboraud medium and identified with CHRO-Magar medium and API-20C identify kit.ATB-Fungus 2 trips was used to perform drug susceptibility test. Results The number of the isolated fungi from 2002 to 2006 was 7,22,39,32,and 57 respectively;and Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis were70% in all of the isolated fungi. The major source of isolated fungi were blood and clean mid-urine,from which 73 and 59 isolates respectively.Drug susceptibility test was performed on 16 Candida isolates from blood in 2006.Conclusions The number of the fungi isolated from aseptic body fluid is increasing in recent years.Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis were predominant of the 157 strains and the major source were blood and clean mid-urine.Drug resistance rate in those isolates was low.
