Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of Gluma desensitizer on vital teeth postoperative hypersensitivity in crown restoration by both clinical application and SEM study.Methods:62 teeth(on symmetric position)from 15 patients were divided into two groups randomly by self-paired design. One was treated with Gluma desensitizer and the other with warm sterile water as control.Visual analog scale(VAS)was used to evaluate the clinical effects.Flat dentin surfaces were obtained by cutting vital human molars occlusally immediately after their extraction. After treated with Gluma desensitizer, they were prepared and observed under SEM.Results:VAS value of the study group(3.43±1.49)was significantly different from that of the contral group(5.87±1.74)and that before treatment(6.20±1.20).The effective rate was 83.87%.Conclusion:Dentin hypersensitivity can be effectively released by Gluma desensitizer after crown preparation.
