Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Danshensu on the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the MDA content in brain tissue of D-galactose rats. Methods Sixty male SPF rats aged 3 months were randomly divided into blank control group, D-galactose group and danshensu groups. All rats were killed 90 days observation , then the activity of SOD and the MDA contents were determined. Results The activity of SOD in rats of D-galactose group was significantly lower than that of blank control group(P0.05),while the MDA contents was significantly higher than that of blank control group(P0.05) .Compared with the D-galactose group, the activity of SOD in Danshensu group was significantly higher ( P 0. 05),the MDA contents was lower(P0.05) than that of the D-galactose group . Conclusion Danshensu is capable of enhancing the activity of SOD and lowering the MDA contents in brain tissue of aging rats, showing that it paly an important role in Anti-aging aspect.
