Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the curative effects of endoscopic sinus surgery.Methods:1 500 cases with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps undergone endoscopic sinus operation from 1997 to 1999 were appraised with the standard criteria. Results:The results showed that the cure rate was 96.6% for type Ⅰ,82.3% for type Ⅱ and 70.1% for type Ⅲ.There was significant difference in cure rate among different types(P0.01).Conclusion:The operation is efficacious and safe in the treatment of nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis. The cure result is directly related to the type of the disease.
