Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS)and to study the factors related to the defeat of endoscopic sinus surgery.Methods:501 cases of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were treated with ESS and following up from 6 to 24 months past-operatively.Results:The results showed that cure rate was 90.8 % for type I,79.5 % for type Ⅱ,and 63.8 % for type Ⅲ.There was significant difference in cure rate among different types (P0.01).Conclusions:ESS is efficacy and safe in the treatment of nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis. The cure results is closely related to the types of disease, the skill of surgeons, and reasonable regular following-up.
