In order to know the germicidal efficacy, stability and toxicity of a liquid skin disinfectant with chlorhexidine acetate as the active principle, carrier immersion quantitative germicidal test and toxicity test were carried out. The results showed that under condition of 18~20℃, the skin disinfectant solution containing chlorhexidine acetate 4665 mg/L with a 5 min and 3 min contact time killed 100% of Escherichia coli and 99.96% of Candida albicans respectively. The skin disinfectant solution containing chlorhexidine acetate 2332 mg/L with a 1 min and 2 min contact time killed 99.99% of Escherichia coli and 99.90% of Candida albicans respectively. After storing at 37℃ for 90 days, the chlorhexidine acetate content of the stock solution of the disinfectant decreased by 2.6%. The results of mouse bone marrow micronucleus test was negative. It was not irritative to skin. Conclusions: the liquid disinfectant has good germicidal efficacy and stability, has no action of inducing micronucleus and is not irritative to skin.
