Abstract
In order to know the germicidal efficacy and toxicity of Jie-Yin Liquid Disinfectant, experimental observation was carried out using suspension quantitative germicidal test and animal test. The results showed that Jie-Yin Liquid Disinfectant containing chlorhexidine acetate 100 mg / L with a 5 min contact time killed 99.97% of Staphylococcus aureus, 99.99% of Escherichia coli and 99.93% of Candida albicans. The disinfectant solution containing chlorhexidine acetate 200 mg / L with a 3 min contact time achieved killing 100% of the above 3 bacteria and fungus. Organic substance had certain influence on its germicidal efficacy. Ihe chlorhexidine acetate content of the stock solution decreased by 0.95% after storing in 37℃ thermostat for 90 d. The mouse oral LD_(50) of the disinfectant was 10 000 mg/ kg, so it belongs to non-toxic class. Its stock solution was not irritative to skin and vaginal mucosa of rabbit. The results indicate that the Jie-Yin Liquid Disinfectant is a stable, actually non-toxic disinfectant which is non-irritative to skin and mucosa of rabbit and has good germicidal action.
