Clinial and Experimental Study on Progressive Psoriasis Vulgaris Treated by Yinhu Decoction

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of Yinhu decoction treating progressing psoriasis vulgaris (PVP) patients , objectively evaluate the serum level of IL-8 in PVP and the effect of Yinhu decoction. Methods: 78 PVP patients were randomly divided into treated group (n=45) and control group (n=33), they were treated with Yinhu decoction and compound Qingdai capsule respectively. 12 healthy persons subjects were selected as normal control. The serum level of IL-8 in all patients and healthy person subject as well as clinical therapeutical effect of the treatment and the psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) were observed and compared Results: The 8 weeks' total effective rate in treated group and control group were 91. 11% and 72. 73% respectively. Comparison between them showed significant difference (P0. 05). Serum level of IL-8 in the patients before treatment were higher than that in healthy subjects (P0. 01) ;after 8 weeks'treatment, it lowered significantly in the treated group (P0. 05). The PASI were lowered (P0. 01). Conclusion: Yinhu decoction has certain clinical effect in treating PVP, it could lower PASI and the serum level of IL-8.
