Abstract
In order to study the tissue-specific expression pattern of porcine OPN gene,mRNA expression levels in ten tissues of Landrace×Yorkshire pigs were detected by using real-time quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR),and these tissues were heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, cerebrum, cerebellum, pituitary, hypothalamus and endometrium. The results showed that the levels of OPN gene expression in endometrium were the highest and that there were different expression levels in cerebellum, heart, liver, spleen, lung, and rarely in the kidney, hypothalamus and pituitary. The tissue-specific expression pattern of porcine OPN gene suggests that OPN may play an important role in the endometrium.
