Abstract
To study the expression characteristics of porcine BMP- 6 gene,a real- time quantitative PCR assay was used to analyze the expression relative levels of the BMP- 6 gene in 11 kinds of tissues, including the brain, heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, muscle, and ovary. The results showed that porcine BMP- 6 gene was widly expressed in all detected tissues,in which the highest expression level of the BMP- 6 mRNA was found in the ovary, followed by liver, and the lowest expression levels was found in stomach and small intestine. The results indicate that the BMP- 6 gene may be associated with reproductive traits.
