Efficacy Observation of Yiqi Runchang Decoction in the Treatment of 150 Cases of Constipation in Young Children

OBJECTIVE: To observe the efficacy of Yiqi runchang decoction in the treatment of pediatric constipation. METHODS: 300 young children in out-patient department were randomly divided into treatment group and control group(n=150). Treatment group were treated with Yiqi runchang decoction made by our hospital and control group were given Wangshi baochi pills. Usage and dosage of drug for children were determined based on the age of children. After 20 days of treatment, the clinical efficacy and symptoms of two groups were observed, such as abdominal pain, abdominal distension, anorexia, feeble and perspire. RESULTS: After two treatment courses, treatment group was superior to control group in clinical efficacy and improvement of symptom(P0.05,P0.01). CONCLUSION: Yiqi runchang decoction has satisfactory effect on pediatric constipation and is worthy of spreading in the clinic.
