Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Runchang Tongbian Decoction for the treatment of functional constipation in aged people. Methods Seventy cases with senile functional constipation were randomized into two groups,with 35 cases in each group. The cases in treatment group were treated withRunchang Tongbian Decoction,and cases in control group were treated with Phenolphthalein Tablets,with the course of 4 weeks. Results The total effective rate was 94. 3% in the treatment group and 80. 0% in the control group; the clinical efficacy in treatment group was superior to that of the control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion Runchang Tongbian Decoctionhas positive effect on senile functional constipation.
