Effective evaluation of nursing intervention on anti-viral treatment compliance in hospitalized AIDS patients

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of nursing intervention on medication compliance of the patients with AIDS to provide references for improving their medication compliance.Methods The AIDS patients diagnosed in the AIDS department of our hospital from January to August 2007 were selected as the study subjects.Among them,80 cases were randomly extracted and divided into the control and the intervention groups,40 cases in each group.The control group accepted the conventional health education and except this the intervention group was added the nursing intervention measures.The differences of medication compliance after nursing intervention were compared between the two groups.Results The medication compliance was 98% in the intervention group and 80% in the control group,the former was higher than the latter with statistical difference(P0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention can significantly improve the medication compliance in the patients with AIDS.
