Treatment of 40 cases of coronary heart disease and angina pectoris by Suxiaojiuxin Pills

Objective: To study the curative effect of Suxiaojiuxin Pills(Rhizoma Chuaoxiong, Borneolum Syntheticum) in treating coronary heart disease and following angina pectoris. Methods: 70 patients were divided into two groups at random: the treatment group with 40 cases and the control group with 30 cases. The treatment group was given drug Suxiaojiuxin Pill 5 pills tid and the control group was given drug Xiaoxintong 10mg tid orally. The treating period was 4 weeks. Angina pectoris was observed and electrocardiogram determined before and after treatment. Results: Both drugs showed a clinical effect on angina pectoris. The total effective rate was 92.5% in treatment group and 90.0% in control group( P 0.05). The total effective rate in improving electrocardiogram was higher in treatment group(57.5%) than in control group(30.0%).( P 0.05) Conclusion: Suxiaojiujin Pills is effective for coronary heart disease and following angina pectoris.
