Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To study the correlation of the expressions of EGFR and MMP-7 with lymph node and liver metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.METHODS:The immunohistochemical technique was used to assay the protein expressions of EGFR and MMP-7 in 60 patients with colorectal carcinoma(33 patients with lymph node metastasis,30 patients with liver metastasis).RESULTS:The expressions of EGFR and MMP-7 were significantly correlated with TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and liver metastasis of colorectal carcinoma(P0.05).The high expressions of EGFR and MMP-7 had a positive correlation each other.CONCLUSIONS:The overexpressions of EGFR and MMP-7 have the synergistic effect during the onset of colorectal carcinoma disease. The examination of EGFR and MMP-7 expressions in primary colorectal carcinoma helps evaluate its lymph node metastasis and liver metastasis.
