Abstract

In order to observe the difference in germicidal efficacy of same disinfectant tested by different germicidal test methods, suspension quantitative germicidal test and carrier quantitative germicidal test specified in 2002 edition ofTechnical Standard for Disinfection were used to compare the germicidal efficacy of a compound chlorhexidine acetate disinfectant. Results: When suspension quantitative germicidal test was used, the average killing logarithm of Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa exposed to the disinfectant solution containing chlorhexidine acetate 4040 mg/L for 1.5 min was 5.00 and that of Candida albicans exposed to the same solution for 1.5 min was 4.00.When carrier quantitative germicidal test was used, the average killing logarithm of Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa exposed to the disinfectant solution of same concentration for 3 min was 3.00 and that of Candida albicans exposed to the same solution for 3 min was 3.00.Conclusion: The germicidal efficacy of same compound chlorhexidine acetate disinfectant evaluated by 2 quantitative germicidal tests showed certain difference.
