Abstract
Objective To prevent perforation of nasal septum in post-correction patients with nasoseptal deviation. Methods 243 cases with operation of nasal septum from November 1984 to November 2004 were analyzed retrospectively. Results In 158 cases with submucous correction of nasal septum , 41 cases (22.16%) mucous membrane were broken and 1 cases(0.54%) had the complication of nasal septum perforation. Thirty one cases(74.59%) were cured and 47 cases(25.41%) were improved. There was significantly difference compared with submucous resection. Conclusion Submucous correction of nasal septum through endoscopy may substitute for submucous resection of nasal septum, which can protect the mucous membrane and reduce the complications of perforation of nasal septum.
