Analysis of Nicotine Concentration of Flue-cued Tobacco in Pan-xi Region

[Objective] Analyze the nicotine concentration of flue-cued tobacco in Pan-xi region in order to offer basic information for the cultivation and utilization of quality tobacco with appropriate nicotine concentration.[Method] Total nicotine was extracted from the samples with the method of vapor distillation,and its concentration was analyzed with the method of UV spectrophotometry.[Result] Nicotine concentration from upper leaves was relatively higher,and from middle leaves was appropriate.[Conclusion] Proper cultivate measures should be taken to reduce the nicotine concentration of upper leaves in this region.
