Abstract
The chemical components and nicotine in smoke of 25 different grades of flue-cured tobacco leaves were determined, and the correlation between the nicotine in smoke and chemical components was studied. The results showed that the proportion of nicotine in tobacco leaves entering smoke was 3.26%~7.00%, and follwed the order of the uppersluggscutters.Nicotine in smoke was significantly positively correlated with nicotine in tobacco leaves, significantly negatively correlated with the total sugar, reduced sugar,sugar/nicotine ratio, potassium and insignificantly corelated with the total nitrogen and chlorine. The regression coefficients of equation reached significant level and the equation had good estimating effects through the examination of other samples.
