Study on Correlation between Nicotine in Smoke and Nicotine in Leaves of Flue-Cured Tobacco with Different Varieties

[Objective] The aim was to study the correlation of between the nicotine in the smoke and the nicotine in the leaves of flue-cured tobacco.[Method]The nicotine contents in the smoke and tobacco leaves of 11 flue-cured tobacco varieties with different grades planted in the same area were determined and their correlations were studied.[Result]The nicotine contents in smoke and tobacco leaves in different flue-cured tobacco varieties followed the order of upper leaf middle leaf lower leaf.The proportion of the nicotine in the tobacco leaves entering the smoke was 4.06%-8.64% and showed a trend of lower leaf upper leaf middle leaf.The nicotine contents in the leaves of Nanjiang 3 was significantly lower than that of other varieties,but the ratio of the nicotine in the tobacco leaves entering the smoke was apparently higher than other varieties.The conversion rate of the nicotine in K326 among different stalk positions was more stable.[Conclusion]There was significant correlation of nicotine between the nicotine in the smoke and the nicotine in the leaves of flue-cured tobacco and the ratio nicotine ratio in the tobacco leaves entering the smoke was affected by the variety and the stalk position.
