Effect of Shaohuangtongbiantang in treatment of constipation of advanced cancer patients

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of Shaohuangtongbiantang in treatment of constipation of advanced cancer patients.Methods 180 cases of constipation in patients with advanced cancer were randomly allocated to the observation group(86 cases) and control group(94 cases).Shaohuangtongbiantang was given to observation group,and orally administration of folium sennae,Kaiselu and suds injiciatur enema were given to the control group.Results The clinical response rates for the observation group and the control group were 97.7% and 87.2%,respectively.The difference between the two groups was significant(P0.01).Conclusion The Shaohuangtongbiantang is efficient in treatment of constipation of advanced cancer patients.
