Abstract
Objective To study the change of serum high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) level in acute cerebral vascular disease. Methods Serum hs-CRP in 65 patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI) and 40 normal controls was measured. The changes of hs-CRP were compared in ACI patients with different pathogenetic condition and infarction size. Results The level of serum hs-CRP in ACI and control groups was(16.12±5.21)mg/L and (1.93±0.93)mg/L respectively. There was statistical difference between the two groups (P0.01).The level of hs-CRP in large or medium cerebral infarction was higher than that in small cerebral infanrction(P0.01).The level of hs-CRP in the patients with high and medium degree of clinical neurological deficit scores were higher than that in mild deficit scores group (P0.01).Conclusion High level of serum hs-CRP can be regarded as useful indication for acute cerebral vascular disease. The inflammatory process is a dangerous factor that must be taken in consideration in treatment. It is noteworthy that rising of hs-CRP level is nonspecific.
