Abstract

Objective To analyse retrospectively the effect and interrelated factor of functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS)for the patients with sinusitis and nasal polyps. Methods The clinical of 132(196 sides)cases with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery were retrospectively analyzed. Results Follow-up was performed in all the 132 cases for 3~12months 96 cases (72.7%)were cured, symptomatic relief was obtained in 28 cases (21.2%)and inefficacy occurred in 8 cases (6.1%). Conclusions FESS in treatment of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps has some advantages such as slight trauma and good outcome .Skilled and careful operation and correct postoperative therapy are the important approaches to increase the recovery rate.
