A Study of the Influence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism on Hui Merchants

The ancient Huizhou, locating in south of Anhui, had been known as cheng-zhu's ancestral home and southeastern zou lu(邹鲁) since the Southern Song Dynasty. It was a typical area authentically inheriting Chinese culture. The Hui merchants were influenced unconsciously by traditional culture and formed the characteristics in the depths of their thought, which had common concept belief, ethics, the etiquette custom and so on, built a kind of cultural pattern characterized by a confirmed and willingly abided business practices system. The Hui merchants with its strong economic fundamentals Creat a unique Huizhou culture. Its rich connotation fully embodied the Chinese orthodox Confucian, as well as reflected the thought flame of Buddhism and Taoism. This paper will give a detailed analysis of the Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism development in Huizhou and their impact on Hui merchants, so that we can comprehensively and accurately grasp and understand the ideas of Hui merchants.
