Abstract

ObjectiveTo explore the changes of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) and to evaluate its clinical relation to CHD.MethodsPlasma ICAM-1 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in 60 patients with CHD.The results were compared with those of the healthy subjects. Results(Plasma sICAM-1) was significantly elevated in patients with CHD and differed significantly from that of the control group(t=(7.136),P0.01).The sICAM-1 in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) was elevated more significantly than in old myocardial infarction(OMI) and stable angina(SA)(t=4.329,5.635;P0.01).The level of sICAM-1 in patients with UAP was elevated more significantly than that in SA(t=3.666,P0.01).ConclusionThe level of sICAM-1 in patients with coronary heart disease is significantly higher than that of the healthy control, which reflects some degree of severity of the disease.
